2014 The Year it All Began!
THE BEGINING ~2014 Tunnel to Tower Walk/Run Team
It all began in 2014, when Jackie, Mike, Jeri and Emily, along with 7 of their friends decided to do the Stephen Siller, Tunnel to Towers - NYC 5k Run/Walk for the first time. This event was way more than a 5k! The experience, like no other, made us know we needed to be a part of this incredible mission to “DO GOOD” in a bigger way.
2015 ~T2T YEAR 2!
In 2015 our team really grew! Mike, Jeri, Emily and Jacq along with our new team members ran with shirts saying, “Run in When Everyone Else Runs Out.” Thanks to Wayne Deitz of Skylands Risk Management who paid for our team shirts we were able to use the rest of our sponsor donations to charter a bus and make a donation directly to the foundation! This is also the year we met Stephanie, our t-shirt designer who has been “WOW-ing” us every year since with something special! Wayne and Stephanie continue to be part of our 403 Reasons to Run Family!
2016 - We Became “403 Reasons to Run”
In 2016, we changed our name to “403 Reasons to Run,” the number of Fire, Police and EMS personnel that lost their lives in the towers in NYC on 9/11. Many of the walkers/runners from the first years not only continued to join us, but brought their friends and families to experience an event like no other. Doubling in size, we fundraised and chartered two busses. In addition to all of that, we had some of our members run the race wearing their full firefighting gear.
2017 ~ Our growing team enjoyed another beautiful day in NYC!
Three chartered busses, and 125 members on our walk/run team. We raised over $8,000 in donations.
2018
Growing, growing and growing! Our team size grew, our number of firefighters running in gear grew and our donations to the foundation grew!
2019
YES, again we filled 3 Chartered busses! We were able to fundraise over $10,000 for the Tunnel to Tower Foundation.
In December of 2019, We went to our first Tunnel to Tower Smart Home Dedication. This totally inspired us to work even harder to “DO GOOD” for the foundation.
2020
YES!! Even during a global pandemic our team came together and supported the Tunnel to Tower Foundation!
No busses needed - We coordinated a LOCAL TRAIL RUN - 3.21 miles to represent the run. We made a sizeable donation and were proud of pulling all of this off safely.
2021~ MAKING A DIFFERENCE! With 210 members, 4 full busses and over $17,000 donated directly to the T2T Foundation, we were very proud to be “DOING GOOD” for the T2T Foundation!
